For the attention of ‘ The Directors’ of Abafim
My husband, Colin, and I wish to express our absolute gratitude to both Nicolas and Jeanette for everything they have done to assist us with the search and purchase of our house in Montaillou.
We decided early 2012 that we wanted to buy a property in the Pyrenees, we holiday every year in the Spanish Pyrenees. I contacted several agencies but it was Abafim by way of Nicolas that contacted me within a few hours. I was very impressed at the speed of response and helpful nature; this formed the basis of working with Nicolas.
We planned to be in Spain during the summer and arranged to come to Tarbes to look at several properties. Nicolas made all of the arrangements and accompanied us to each property. Everything that Nicolas showed us had some potential. However it was the last property, some distance from Tarbes that Nicolas suggested we might wish to see; it was not in the area we thought we wanted to be but as it was en route to Perpignan the direction we were travelling back to Spain we decided to see.
The house was situated in the village of Montaillou near the town of Ax Les Thermes. The moment we saw it we knew it was the house for us. We travelled back to Spain and called Nicolas asking for a second visit; a few days later we returned and later that day we made our offer to buy the house. This was towards the end of August 2012.
In the weeks that passed Nicolas introduced us to Jeanette who was supporting Nicolas and who became invaluable in the role of ‘interpreter’, however Jeanette was so much more than this. She took a personal interest and provided us with great advice and service. Every question asked was answered quickly and fully. Every concern was addressed; between Nicolas and Jeanette we felt very confident and secure that our best interests were being taken care of by the agency.
We met Jeanette in Ax on December 20 at the office of the Notary to sign the Final Act; again Jeanette ensured we understood every element of what we were about to sign for. We had no hesitation as we had full trust in Jeanette to represent us well.
We are now the very proud owners of a beautiful mountain house in an amazingly welcoming and friendly village.
Our journey from initial contact with Abafim, to working with Nicolas to find us that perfect property, to being supported by Jeanette was handled with professionalism, courtesy, enthusiasm and care. We have been amazed at how easy this journey has been and that is the best compliment I can make to both Nicolas and Jeanette; whom I consider to be a friend and look forward to welcoming them to visit with us in our new French home.
Thank you to all the Abafim team as I am sure in the background other people were also working to support us.
I have enclosed a photograph of the view from our mountain house..... it is amazing!

Madame,
Je vous remercie pour votre réponse tout à fait exhaustive.
En fait, après avoir réfléchi sur les précisions que vous nous avez transmises, il apparaît que seuls deux terrains nous intéressent réellement AF05247 et AF05406, pour des raisons d'ailleurs un peu différentes.
Nous ne sommes malheureusement pas en mesure de les visiter de suite …ne pourrons vous rencontrer que vers le 15 août …….(nous résidons en effet actuellement au Pakistan ......).
Quoiqu'il en soit nous souhaitons garder le contact car votre site est bien fait et votre agence (cad vous même) semble réactive.
….
